Strengthening Economic Resilience in Appalachian Communities
The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) invites proposals from qualified research teams to explore economic resilience in both the Appalachian Region and the nation as a whole. Research will include developing a framework to analyze economic resilience; analyzing and comparing successful strategies to restructure local economies and strengthen economic resilience; identifying up to 10 counties or multi-county regions that have successfully recovered from major industry loss, for in-depth case study analysis; and customizing a detailed set of strategies that can be implemented in communities throughout the Appalachian Region to strengthen economic resilience. Proposals are due August 31, 2016.

Program Evaluation of ARC's Leadership and Community Capacity Projects, FY 2008-FY 2015
The Appalachian Regional Commission invites proposals from qualified researchers and consultants to conduct a program evaluation of ARC-funded leadership and community capacity projects in the Appalachian Region. The evaluation will encompass approximately 135 projects funded from fiscal year 2008 through fiscal year 2015. Proposals are due August 26, 2016.
