ELEVATE is a paid internship opportunity where Appalachian college/university students and recent graduates can elevate their careers, cultivate a deeper connection to the region, and innovate through meaningful projects that will impact their communities.
As ARC’s state partners and Appalachian education institutions, we need your help to recruit eligible applicants!
If you have any questions, please contact ARC’s Human Resources Generalist Tony Ware.
About ELEVATE
ELEVATE: Internships at ARC was launched in 2023 to provide Appalachian college and university students, as well as recent graduates, an opportunity to forward their careers, deepen their connection and understanding of the Appalachian region, and work hands-on on projects that will have meaningful impact on the region.
Through ELEVATE, ARC aims to cultivate relationships with young leaders from overlooked populations and locations, co-create an experience, contribute to their educational endeavors, and introduce them to potential opportunities and career paths in the Appalachian community and economic development space.
Applications for the our 2024 ELEVATE summer internship cohorts will open on November 1, 2023 and close on February 29, 2024.
Who Can Apply?
All current students and recent graduates attending a two- or four-year college or university in the Appalachian region are eligible to apply.
In alignment with ARC’s mission to help Appalachia reach socioeconomic parity with the rest of the nation, this internship encourages underrepresented student populations to apply, such as:
Students and recent graduates of Appalachia’s 15 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs),
First-generation students and recent graduates, and
Students who live in, or are from, economically distressed or at-risk counties.
