Applications for Rural Advantage Community Planning Assistance Due November 6
On October 5, ARC, EPA, and partner agencies announced the availability of community planning assistance through Rural Advantage, a suite of programs that help rural communities develop strategies to grow their economies and revitalize downtown neighborhoods. These programs include Local Foods, Local Places
, which helps communities leverage local food enterprise to diversify their economy and renew their downtowns; Cool & Connected
, created to help communities use broadband service to create walkable, connected, economically successful neighborhoods; and Healthy Places for Healthy People
, a new program that helps communities use centrally located health-care facilities to promote community development and active living.
