Throughout the year, ARC issues requests for proposals (RFPs) seeking contractors to support research and evaluation on topics impacting economic development in the Appalachian Region, or to assist in administering community capacity initiatives. Occasionally, ARC seeks contractors for technical projects that strengthen our internal processes to ultimately better fulfill our mission.

Assessing the Economic Effects of ARC’s Investments in Appalachia
ARC is seeking a qualified consultant to conduct research estimating differences in economic outcomes between Appalachian and similar non-Appalachian counties over time, and to assess the extent to which those differences are associated with ARC’s investments.
The research will provide a partial update of a 2015 report that used a quasi-experimental design (i.e., a “twin county”) approach to estimate ARC’s economic impact during its first 50 years
Proposals are due June 16, 2026.
