  • March 07, 2024, 11:00 AM - March 07, 2024, 2:00 PM

The Appalachian Regional Commission is excited to partner with the US Department of Treasury to host two webinars about the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI). The initiative is providing $10 billion to support small businesses and empower them to access the capital needed to invest in job-creating opportunities as the country emerges from the pandemic. The program provides both capital for loans or investments for small businesses and technical assistance to small businesses to help them access the funds.

Session 1: SSBCI’s Capital Program for ARC Stakeholders – March 7, 11 AM – 12 PM EST

Please join us for a webinar designed to enrich the opportunities for business communities throughout Appalachia through an introduction to SSBCI’s Capital Program. Learn firsthand from West Virginia and Virginia State representatives on how they have designed and implemented programs through this initiative to address the unique needs and priorities of their communities and come away with a better understanding of the many benefits that derive from participation.

Session 2: SSBCI’s Technical Assistance Program for ARC Stakeholders – March 7, 1 PM – 2 PM EST

ARC hopes to increase the economic opportunity of its stakeholders by sharing information about the Technical Assistance (TA) Grant Program offered through the SSBCI.  This webinar delves into the purpose and goals behind this initiative and highlights, through guided discussion, how our partners in Appalachian Alabama, South Carolina, and Georgia have gone about designing and implementing successful TA advisory programs to expand access to capital and promote economic resiliency.
