This study examines state- and county-level data on population, age, race and ethnicity, gender, housing occupancy, and housing tenure from the 2010 Census Demographic Profile for the 13 Appalachian states. State- and county-level analysis of education and migration patterns is provided from the 2005-2009 American Community Survey. Information is summarized for five Appalachian subregions and five metro designations. Percent change from the 2000 Census is computed for each indicator.
